Sterling Financial Shares Delisted and Reconstructed

Sterling Financial Holdings Company Plc has been delisted from the Nigerian Exchange (NGX) Limited, marking a significant shift in its share structure. The company previously held 68,502,331,708 ordinary shares, which were removed from the daily official list of Customs Street. This delisting occurred after a period of suspension where trading was halted to allow the Central Securities Clearing System (CSCS) Plc and Pace Registrars Limited to reconcile their holdings and update the shareholder register.
The delisting was part of a broader share reconstruction exercise aimed at converting every 10 existing ordinary shares held by shareholders into one new ordinary share. This restructuring process was initiated last month to convert the old share count into a new, more efficient capital structure. The suspension of trading on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, was necessary to facilitate these internal adjustments and ensure the Central Securities Clearing System (CSCS) Plc and Pace Registrars Limited could properly reconcile their holdings and update the shareholder register.
