Fidelity Bank Strengthens Capital and Asset Quality

Fidelity Bank Plc reported a reduced non-performing loan ratio of 2.4 per cent, down from 3.1 per cent, after completing a N227.05bn private placement in December 2025. This action increased its eligible capital to N532.6bn.
The bank’s eligible capital of N532.6bn exceeds the Central Bank of Nigeria’s N500bn minimum requirement for internationally authorized banks during the sector’s recapitalisation process.
Fidelity Bank’s capital adequacy ratio reached approximately 16.1 per cent, reflecting improved asset quality and financial stability following the private placement.
The private placement raised eligible capital from N305.5bn to N532.6bn, enhancing the bank’s ability to meet regulatory standards and sustain operations.
