Sokoto ADC Candidate Demands Fiscal Transparency

Dan’iya, the Sokoto ADC candidate, called for a detailed breakdown of state revenue and expenditure from May 2023 to September 2026. He emphasized that citizens deserved to know how much funds were received, spent, and the tangible benefits delivered by the government.
The candidate specifically requested transparency on federal and internal revenue sources, project allocations to the state’s 23 local government areas, and expenditure on public services during the same timeframe.
On October 17, 2026, Dan’iya urged independent scrutiny of projects with disputed costs, implementation status, or public benefits, requiring documentary evidence and accountability mechanisms to address allegations of inflated costs or incomplete work.
He insisted that the government provide a clear comparison of revenue received, expenditure incurred, completed projects, ongoing constructions, and community services delivered to ensure public accountability.
Dan’iya stressed that the same accountability standards must apply to both the state government and all 23 local government councils, asserting that public resources belong to citizens and require verifiable financial tracking.
