Nigerian Ports Authority Threatens Total Engina FPSO Entry

KOKO Business: Nigerian Ports Authority Threatens Total Engina FPSO Entry

The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) warned that barring the Total Engina Floating Production Storage (FPSO) from Nigeria could disrupt plans to increase crude output by 200,000 barrels per day this year. This threat follows Total’s refusal to use local towing services, which NPA is enforcing.

NPA has suspended all pilotage district service boats until IOCs settle unpaid pilotage dues, which have caused operational delays for the Engina FPSO’s arrival timeline.

The Engina FPSO’s production schedule faces potential delay due to legal disputes, risking the 2018 target of 200,000 barrels per day, which is critical for Nigeria’s 2018 budget funding.

Nigeria’s 2018 budget relies on projected oil revenue of N2.442 trillion at $45 per barrel, but production shortfalls could undermine this financial target.
