FCT Minister Wike Links Economic Recovery to Tinubu’s Policies

Nigeria’s economic recovery hinges on maintaining President Tinubu’s reform policies, according to FCT Minister Nyesom Wike. At a Rainbow Coalition Townhall in Rivers State, Wike emphasized that only sustained adherence to current economic strategies can prevent national collapse.
Wike recalled urging state leaders in 2023 to embrace the administration’s economic choices, noting that the system was nearly dead when Tinubu assumed office. He stressed that these reforms were critical to restoring stability after the previous administration’s failures.
Wike warned against supporting political figures who prioritize personal gain over national progress, particularly former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and former Anambra Governor Peter Obi. He argued that backing such candidates risks diverting funds to cover campaign costs rather than economic gains.
The minister urged citizens to adopt consistent political stances, stating that shifting allegiances like a chameleon would undermine national economic stability. He linked the 2027 election to long-term economic resilience, warning against short-term political opportunism.
