KOKO Business: NSE Ranks Third Globally in 2017 Performance

The Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) achieved third place globally among major stock exchanges for 2017 performance. Its year-to-date return of 41.30 percent as of the year's end lagged behind Argentina’s Merval Index and Turkey’s Borsa Istanbul 100.

Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) policies, particularly the Investors’ and Exporters’ (I and E) window, drove the NSE’s growth this year. These measures contributed to foreign exchange market liberalization.

National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) reported a 200 percent year-on-year rise in foreign portfolio investments during Q3 2017.
