KOKO Business | People, Ideas, Markets, Growth | Coca-Cola System's Economic Impact in Nigeria Measured by Steward Redqueen Study

Steward Redqueen's analysis of the Coca-Cola system in Nigeria reveals its economic footprint, including The Coca-Cola Company, Nigerian Bottling Company, and associated suppliers, distributors, and retailers. The study, presented following the company’s 75th Anniversary Gala in Abuja, quantifies direct and indirect employment effects across the nation.

The system generated 3,000 direct jobs and 157,200 indirect jobs through suppliers, partners, and customers. For each direct position, 53 additional jobs emerged in retail, agriculture, manufacturing, transport, and services. Procurement activities span sugar production, packaging, transportation, and marketing, connecting operations to wider economic sectors.

The report also highlights ongoing investments in infrastructure and sustainability initiatives, supporting local communities while reducing plastic waste. These efforts align with the system’s economic impact assessment conducted in 2024, marking the company’s 75th anniversary in Nigeria.
