Thailand aims to secure foreign investment in artificial intelligence, clean energy, and electric vehicles during the upcoming IMF-World Bank Annual Meetings in Bangkok. The government announced this strategy on October 12, planning to leverage the 2026 event to expand international economic cooperation and attract capital for emerging sectors.

Deputy Government Spokesperson Lalida Perisvivatana confirmed the meetings will run from October 12 to 18 at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center. The event will gather economic policymakers, financial executives, and global representatives to discuss growth opportunities.

Thailand’s pavilion will debut on the first day, emphasizing digital public infrastructure, climate risk management, and healthcare systems designed for extended economic longevity.

The government stated that attracting investment in future industries will support sustained economic growth, with specific focus areas including AI, clean energy, and electric vehicles to strengthen international economic ties.
