National Veal Project Expands Livestock Support in Egypt

The National Veal Project, a state initiative under the presidential Decent Life program, focuses on boosting rural Egypt’s agricultural output and citizen welfare. Deputy Minister of Agriculture Mostafa El Sayad noted that state support includes field inspections of livestock facilities and discounted livestock insurance via the Livestock Insurance Fund.
Over 543,710 head of cattle have been raised and fattened through the project, benefiting 46,416 small-scale breeders and young graduates. Tarek Soliman, Head of the Livestock and Poultry Development Sector, confirmed applications remain open nationwide. The project’s expansion aims to enhance domestic red meat and dairy production, reduce market pressures, and stabilize prices.
