The Nigerian Government reaffirmed its commitment to placing the Nigerian child at the centre of national development. Minister of Education Dr Maruf Tunji Alausa stressed that investing in girls’ education, welfare, and empowerment is critical for national prosperity. This aligns with the Renewed Hope Agenda prioritizing children’s welfare.

Alausa described addressing barriers to school attendance and learning as essential to enable girls to develop abilities, fulfill aspirations, and contribute meaningfully to national development. The initiative, 'Flow with Confidence 2.0: Keeping Every Girl in School,' marks the 2026 International Day of the Girl Child at the State House Banquet Hall in Abuja.
