Singapore Launches AI Safety Starter Kit for Organisations

KOKO Business | People, Ideas, Markets, Growth | Singapore Launches AI Safety Starter Kit for Organisations

Singapore’s government introduced a starter kit to evaluate AI agents’ safety and reliability following reports of unintended agent behavior. The tool, launched on October 14, enables organisations to assess whether agents achieve correct outcomes and trace their decision pathways. Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) chief executive Ng Cher Pong described it as a practical starting point.

The kit follows recent efforts to position Singapore as an AI safety testbed. It checks agents’ tool usage, accessed information, decision processes, potential errors, unauthorized actions, permission adherence, and safeguard effectiveness. This structured approach helps identify risks and design tests for AI agents operating with minimal human supervision.
