Nigeria aims for a 7% economic growth rate in 2027, according to Finance Minister Taiwo Oyedele, who also confirmed there will be no return to petrol subsidies or multiple exchange rates.

Oyedele noted that the recent reduction in petrol retail margins by NNPC Limited was a commercial decision, not a publicly funded subsidy.

Private capital inflows in Nigeria rose significantly, from about $300 million in 2023 to nearly $6 billion in 2026, according to Cardoso.

Estimates suggest that 1.2 billion people may enter the global labor market over the next 10 to 15 years, while only about 400 million new jobs are expected, creating a potential shortfall of 800 million.
