Egypt Launches Investment Zones for Alam Al Roum Project

Mohamed Farid, Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, and Randa El-Menshawy, Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities, joined government officials and Qatari Diar representatives at the launch of the Alam Al Roum project.
The event signifies progress in advancing the investment aspects of the Alam Al Roum project, aiming to foster tourism, real estate, and services, and to bolster Egypt’s capacity to draw Arab and foreign capital, broadening economic development beyond the Nile Valley and Delta.
Farid emphasized that investment zones are a successful strategy for attracting local and foreign investment, streamlining procedures, expediting project execution, and creating direct and indirect employment for nearby communities.
He noted that the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade will persist in collaborating with the Ministry of Housing and other relevant agencies to broaden public and private investment zones and free zones.
According to Farid, the private sector contributed about 65% of total investment in Egypt during the third quarter of fiscal year 2025/2026, an increase from a prior range of 40% to 45%.
