Kwankwasiyya Questions N55bn Loan Plan for Kano LGAs

The Kwankwasiyya Movement has raised concerns over a proposed N55 billion loan for Kano State's 44 local government councils, requesting detailed information on the planned projects and repayment terms.
The movement expressed worries about the timing of the loan proposal, which comes ahead of the next electoral cycle, but clarified it is not accusing the government of using the funds for election purposes.
The Kwankwasiyya Movement emphasized that public borrowing should be based on development needs, not political convenience, and called for a detailed breakdown of the loan proposal.
It also demanded verification of the figures against original documents and requested details on the locations of proposed CBT centres, cost estimates, and the N500 million project allocation.
The movement urged the Kano State House of Assembly to confirm if it approved the loan arrangement and to publish the relevant resolution and supporting documents.
