China Advised to Learn from Pentagon’s Warfare Project

China has been advised to adopt insights from the Pentagon's Project Meridian, which aims to identify future battlefield requirements and prioritize investments in emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence and robotics. The initiative, co-chaired by Elon Musk, was launched recently and emphasizes collaboration between military and civilian analysts.
A Beijing-based think tank, the Blue Army Open-Source Intelligence Research Institute, recommended that China draw lessons from the project's assessment of military domains and its focus on linking technological development with operational needs. The analysis highlighted the importance of avoiding conflicts of interest in adopting such strategies.
Project Meridian is designed to prioritize investment in areas like directed energy and biotechnology, with a focus on future warfare. The think tank suggested that China should consider the project's approach to ensure it aligns with its own strategic goals without replicating potential shortcomings from the US defense review.
