Hong Kong Sees Growth in Drug and Semiconductor Firms

The Office for Attracting Strategic Enterprises (OASES) anticipates additional drug and semiconductor companies to establish or expand operations in Hong Kong. This projection was shared by Peter Yan King-shun, the director general of OASES, a government agency under the Financial Secretary’s Office.
Yan King-shun provided an early look at upcoming government announcements regarding firms planning to set up in the city. The information was shared ahead of the official release of details on Thursday.
The director expects a balanced distribution between mainland and overseas firms, although this balance is not a formal target. Additionally, five of the world’s top ten pharmaceutical companies are already operating in Hong Kong.
