Presidency Warns Against False NLNG Claim

The Nigerian Presidency has cautioned against what it describes as a false claim regarding the Nigeria LNG (NLNG) row. The statement, issued by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, urged Nigerians to disregard the assertion made by Makinde.
Makinde, representing the Allied People’s Movement, claimed during a budget stakeholders' meeting that each state should receive N250bn. The Presidency contested this, stating that the figure would surpass the company’s total lifetime payout to the Federation.
The Presidency also emphasized the need for Makinde to exercise greater caution in his public statements. It called for a more measured approach in his conduct and utterances, highlighting the importance of accuracy in such matters.
