Governor Abandons Market Takeover Plan

Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya has decided to abandon his plan to take over the disputed Masinde Muliro Market. The governor initially intended to relocate traders to the newly opened market to improve cleanliness and waste management in Kitale.
A group of General Service Unit officers has blocked access to the Trans Nzoia County headquarters to stop Natembeya from visiting the market. The governor claimed the facility should be under county control, but has now changed his stance.
Natembeya stated he no longer wants to push for opening the market, emphasizing that those who receive spaces should work there, while others should stay in their current locations.
