CAN Calls for Shared Responsibility in Nigeria’s Challenges

KOKO Business | People, Ideas, Markets, Growth | CAN Calls for Shared Responsibility in Nigeria's Challenges

The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has urged both the Church and citizens to acknowledge their role in the nation's ongoing crises, including insecurity, corruption, and economic difficulties. The organization emphasized that assigning blame solely to political leaders is insufficient.

A CAN cleric stated that the Church stands guilty before God, highlighting the need for collective accountability. However, the organization stressed that this responsibility should not hinder its efforts to hold the government accountable for its actions.

CAN has played a significant role in peacebuilding, defending religious freedom, and fostering national engagement over the past five decades. The organization called for Nigerians to pray for the country and advocate for justice, fairness, and equity across all divides.
