Morocco Hits 2026 Beef Import Target

Morocco has met its 2026 target for cattle imports, reaching a total of 300,000 cattle, according to the Ministry of Agriculture, Maritime Fisheries, Rural Development, and Water and Forests. The announcement includes animals under valid customs exemptions still being imported.
The country imported an average of 24,000 cattle monthly, with fluctuations throughout the year. The government stated that these imports helped supply the domestic market with red meat and stabilize prices amid drought and rising feed costs.
The 300,000 cattle import quota was part of a broader strategy to ensure food security and manage market stability. The Ministry confirmed that the quota was fully met, including exemptions still in process.
