French President Emmanuel Macron condemned a deadly shooting near Paris as a 'racist terrorist attack' following the incident in the suburbs. A gunman fired from a car, killing one person and injuring five, including a 12-year-old girl shot multiple times, according to the AFP report.

The mayor of Trappes, Ali Rabeh, stated that the attacker was 'firing at random, wanting to cause a bloodbath' as he drove through the working-class town and neighboring La Verriere. The attack was described as 'racist, probably Islamophobic' by the mayor.

French prosecutors have initiated an investigation into the incident, citing 'murder in connection with a terrorist enterprise.' Macron emphasized that the attack marked a 'turning point' as it was the first known terrorist act targeting individuals based on race or religion.
