Canal+ Revenue Surpasses $7.2 Billion Amid African Expansion

KOKO Business | People, Ideas, Markets, Growth | Canal+ Revenue Surpasses $7.2 Billion Amid African Expansion

Canal+, backed by French billionaire Vincent Bolloré’s family, reported $7.2 billion in revenue for the first nine months of 2026. This figure reflects the impact of its $2 billion acquisition of South Africa’s MultiChoice, which significantly expanded its African operations.

Revenue from Africa and Asia more than tripled to $2.9 billion following the takeover. However, MultiChoice’s underlying revenue declined by 3% due to reduced subscription income in South Africa.

Canal+ claims the decline in subscription income is improving as it rolls out new packages and enhances its African sports offerings. Meanwhile, Australia’s $1.4 billion student visa policy adjustment may affect access for African applicants.
