Prime Minister Launches Fuel Relief Initiative

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has initiated a process to provide relief on fuel prices, as confirmed by official sources. The move comes amid rising petroleum costs, which have placed a significant burden on citizens, especially those from low-income households.
During a meeting with Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Amir Hafiz Naeemur Rehman, the prime minister announced the formation of a six-member committee tasked with developing proposals for a phased reduction in the petroleum levy.
The government has already implemented measures to assist lower-income groups through its petroleum relief scheme, according to the prime minister. He emphasized that the government will continue to provide relief within its financial capacity while working to stabilize global oil markets.
