China Investors Shift to Dividend Stocks Amid Market Volatility

Chinese investors are increasingly favoring dividend stocks, as returns from these equities surpass those of state bonds. The dividend yield on these stocks is nearly double the yield on China’s 10-year government bonds.
The shift is driven by market instability, particularly in the technology sector, and uneven economic growth across China. Investors are moving away from volatile tech stocks to high-yield equities for more stable returns.
Two key dividend indices have outperformed the benchmark, rising 2 per cent and 1.6 per cent respectively in October. This growth comes amid concerns over financial tightening in the US and weak domestic demand in China.
