Court Panel Returns Case File After SERAP Application Delay

KOKO Business | People, Ideas, Markets, Growth | Court Panel Returns Case File After SERAP Application Delay

The Court of Appeal’s special panel returned the case file for reassignment following SERAP’s delayed application submission. This action occurred after the panel adjourned on Friday due to the NGO’s failure to file its appeal application by the deadline.

SERAP’s deputy director, Kolawole Ogundare, faced challenges during the hearing as the panel struggled to understand his counsel’s presentation. After over an hour of confusion, the panel decided to reassign the case file.

The panel’s adjournment on Friday stemmed from SERAP’s missed filing deadline, which required the three-member panel to wait until Tuesday for the application to be processed. SERAP’s lead counsel, Tayo Oyetibo, SAN, noted the application was filed on October 12.
