These are dated national-average food prices for the NBS reporting month, not today’s retailer quotes. As checked on 18 October 2026, the NBS catalogue lists its May 2026 Selected Food Price Watch as the latest release; the catalogue dates it 25 June 2026. NBS describes its monthly field collection across all 774 local government areas, all states and the FCT, from 10,000 respondents and locations. The values below are 42 item-level national averages; units follow the NBS source and have not been converted.
