Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale has called for expedited implementation of two World Bank-funded health initiatives totaling approximately Ksh43.5 billion. The push comes as the government aims to enhance its emergency response and Universal Health Coverage (UHC) efforts.

Duale made the request during a high-level meeting with a World Bank delegation led by Manager Ronald Mutasa. The meeting focused on reviewing progress under the Building Resilient and Responsive Health Systems (BREHS) Project and the Kenya Health Emergency Preparedness, Response and Resilience (KHEPRR) Project.

The discussions, held on October 29, addressed delays impacting the projects and aimed to improve resource utilization. Duale emphasized the need for the World Bank to synchronize its support with Kenya’s national health priorities.
