Egypt-Indonesia Trade and Cooperation Goals

President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi stated Egypt and Indonesia target $5bn bilateral trade by 2030, with expanded joint manufacturing and increased Indonesian investment in Egypt. Both nations agreed to prioritize trade growth and eliminate barriers to reach this goal.
The partnership focuses on key sectors like crude palm oil and phosphate fertilisers, where joint production and distribution mechanisms have advanced through Indonesia’s Danantara and Egypt’s Future of Egypt for Sustainable Development Authority.
Additional cooperation includes deepening defence and security ties via regular high-level dialogue and existing bilateral mechanisms, such as the joint committee, to enhance political coordination between the two countries.
Al-Sisi emphasized Nile water as critical for Egypt’s survival, reaffirming the nation’s stance on protecting water rights and opposing actions that threaten its water security.
