FCC Overturns High Court Order on Police Officer

The FCC overturned a Sindh High Court order regarding police officer Munir Samo, stating that judicial review under Article 199 of the Constitution is intended to correct unlawful actions and ensure legal compliance, not to assume administrative decision-making powers.
The FCC converted Samo's petition into an appeal, declaring the SHC's June 30, 2026 order unlawful, which was issued at its Larkana circuit.
The high court had ordered the immediate removal of Samo from the Special Branch, his detention in Karachi for one year, and prohibition from operational duties. It also mandated disciplinary proceedings and required authorities to report back to the court.
