Fidelity Bank Launches USSD Payment System for Federal Revenue Collection

KOKO Business: Fidelity Bank Launches USSD Payment System for Federal Revenue Collection

Fidelity Bank Plc, led by CEO Nnamdi Okonkwo, introduced a new method for collecting Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) through a partnership with SystemSpecs, the Remita platform owner. This innovation enables Federal Government Revenues to be remitted via Unstructured Supplementary Service Data (USSD) channel *770#.

The initiative addresses challenges in tax payments and remittance for millions of Nigerians, aiming to provide accessible revenue collection channels for all government tiers. SystemSpecs, established in 1991, specializes in e-Payment and financial software solutions across Nigeria and Africa.

Customers use their Remita Retrieval Reference (RRR) to complete payments via USSD code 770 R RR#, ensuring efficient tax and other service transactions without requiring internet access.

Fidelity Bank emphasizes collaboration with forward-looking partners to maintain smooth payment channels, aligning with its commitment to convenient banking services for semi-formal and informal sectors.
