Federal Information Minister Attaullah Tarar suggested that the ban on the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) might no longer be required following the imposition of governor’s rule in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa. Tarar claimed the party had already lost its government in the province due to its alleged support for terrorism.

The emergency and governor’s rule were declared on October 11 after failed negotiations between the government and opposition, leading to a PTI-led long march towards Islamabad that began on October 4.

Tarar stated in a televised message that the PTI’s influence in the province had diminished, and the party’s governance had been effectively terminated due to its alleged ties to terrorism.
