President Prabowo Subianto and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi have advocated for an Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA) and supported creating a Joint Investment Fund to boost bilateral trade and investment prospects. The initiative aims to expand market access and business engagement between the two nations.

During Prabowo's April 2025 visit to Egypt, the leaders committed to deepening economic collaboration to strengthen their strategic partnership. This includes enhancing cooperation in marine and fisheries sectors through sustainable development and resource conservation efforts.

Indonesia and Egypt also agreed to collaborate on defense industry initiatives, focusing on technology transfer and joint projects to support national security objectives.
