Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Taiwo Oyedele, stated that Nigeria’s economic reforms have bolstered investor confidence. Financial markets and the international community are pricing in the possibility of President Bola Tinubu’s re-election and the continuation of these policies beyond the 2027 general election.

Oyedele made these remarks during a press briefing alongside CBN Governor Olayemi Cardoso at the 2026 IMF/World Bank Annual Meetings in Bangkok, Thailand. He highlighted that investors are concerned about potential political developments that could lead to a reversal of the government’s economic reforms.

Oyedele emphasized that the markets and international community expect continuity in the reforms, with investors banking on Tinubu’s re-election to maintain the current policy trajectory.
