Israeli Settlers Under House Arrest After Attacks

KOKO Business | People, Ideas, Markets, Growth | Israeli Settlers Under House Arrest After Attacks

Israeli authorities have placed most suspects involved in recent settler attacks under house arrest, according to legal representatives. The arrests followed incidents targeting an American photojournalist and a visiting French mayor in the West Bank.

Israeli police announced the arrest of 10 individuals linked to the attacks, which occurred in the occupied Palestinian territory. The legal aid organization Honenu stated that all but one suspect had been released under house arrest.

The attacks took place in the West Bank town of Turmus Ayya, where Israeli settlers have been involved in escalating violence. Despite the arrests, perpetrators of such incidents are rarely prosecuted in the region.
