Kenya Targets 2026 Fund and World Bank Meetings for Economic Policy Advancement

Kenya aims to advance development financing and economic policy priorities during the 2026 Annual Meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank Group in Bangkok, Thailand. National Treasury Cabinet Secretary John Mbadi and Principal Secretary Chris Kiptoo will lead the Kenyan delegation for the meetings, which occur from October 12 to 18.
The National Treasury stated that the gathering offers a chance for Kenya to discuss economic stability, financing needs, and long-term development measures with international financial institutions and development partners.
These discussions occur amid ongoing geopolitical tensions, commodity price volatility, and climate-related economic shocks affecting global conditions.
Kenya’s participation is expected to help advance economic interests and strengthen partnerships for sustained growth and resilience against external shocks.
