Lawmakers dismissed allegations of ineffectiveness and financial recklessness against PINL following a technical subcommittee investigation that found the claims unsubstantiated. The Committee’s review focused on PINL’s pipeline surveillance contract and its effects on crude oil production, security, and community development in the Niger Delta.

The report, presented at a special sitting on October 13, 2026, detailed PINL’s contributions to pipeline security, community development, and crude oil production stability in Nigeria’s Eastern Corridor. The subcommittee confirmed the allegations were unsubstantiated by evidence presented during the review.

PINL employed over 35,600 youths as pipeline surveillance guards, providing livelihoods for thousands in the company’s operational areas.
