Man Sentenced to Death for Killing Wife

A 45-year-old man, Abubakar Musa, was sentenced to death by hanging by Yobe State High Court 1 for the killing of his wife, Ammi Mamman.

The court delivered the verdict on Wednesday, approximately two years after the crime occurred.

Musa was arrested on January 4, 2024, by Yobe State Police Command for the killing of his wife at New Bra-Bra Housing Estate, Damaturu, and was charged with culpable homicide.

The court rejected Musa's not-guilty plea, stating that the evidence presented was credible and sufficient to prove culpable homicide beyond reasonable doubt.

As a result, the defendant was found guilty and received the death penalty by hanging.
