Manufacturers Push for 30% Green Tax Credit

Manufacturers are urging the Federal Government to implement a 30 per cent Green Investment Tax Credit for companies investing in renewable energy and hybrid power solutions. This proposal aims to reduce energy costs and enhance industrial productivity.
The call for the tax credit follows a significant increase in manufacturers’ annual expenditure on alternative energy, which rose by 20.72 per cent to N1.34 trillion in 2025, compared to N1.11 trillion in 2024.
Ajayi-Kadir emphasized the need for targeted fiscal and energy-sector reforms to lower operating costs and improve industrial competitiveness. He also called for a stable gas pricing framework and prioritization of domestic supply over exports.
