Neocloud Stocks Drop Amid Musk’s Warning on AI Firm Failures

Shares of major AI infrastructure providers fell on Monday following a warning from Elon Musk that more than 200 neocloud companies could face potential failures and consolidation. This has raised investor concerns about the debt financing challenges within the industry, which is striving to meet the rising demand for artificial intelligence computing.
Nebius, CoreWeave, and Iren each experienced a decline of over 4% in early premarket trading. However, these stocks partially recovered, ending the day around 2% lower.
Elon Musk, CEO of SpaceX and Tesla, highlighted the current state of debt markets, stating that access to capital has nearly dried up for companies without substantial revenue beyond AI data centers.
