Nigeria Launches Digital Platform to Boost Creative Economy and Tourism

The Federal Government of Nigeria, through Minister Hannatu Musa Musawa of Art, Culture and Creative Economy, launched Destination 2030 (D30) on October 13, 2026. This digital platform aims to attract investment into tourism and creative industries, diversify the economy, create jobs, and unlock sectoral economic potential.
Musawa emphasized that the absence of comprehensive data hindered stakeholders’ ability to evaluate investment opportunities and quantify the economic value of Nigeria’s cultural assets. The platform will consolidate sector-specific statistics, research, tourism infrastructure details, cultural heritage information, creative professionals data, and government interventions to inform investment.
the 2030 target, the government aims to achieve a $100bn contribution to gross domestic product and over three million jobs from the creative economy.
