Nigeria Reps Panel Summons Telecom CEOs Over Network Issues

A Nigerian house of representatives committee has summoned the chief executive officers of major telecom companies, including Airtel Nigeria, MTN Nigeria, and Globacom, over concerns about poor network quality nationwide.
The ad hoc committee, which is investigating issues related to telecom services, issued the summons on Wednesday, requiring the CEOs of MTN Nigeria, Airtel Nigeria, Globacom, Mafab Communications Limited, and other providers to appear before it on October 28.
The panel passed the resolution following lawmakers' dissatisfaction with the alleged failure of the CEOs to attend previous meetings. The committee also instructed the Nigerian Communications Commission to ensure compliance with the summons.
