Nigerian Manufacturers Boost Investment to N1.33 Trillion in 2025

The Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN) reported that manufacturing investment increased by 102.16 per cent to N1.33 trillion in 2025, up from N658.81 billion in 2024.
Segun Ajayi-Kadir, MAN’s Director-General, stated the rise in investment stems from aggressive backward integration and expanded local production capacity.
This investment surge addresses foreign exchange illiquidity concerns while enhancing domestic supply chains and operational efficiency amid higher production and distribution costs.
Manufacturing investment grew by 34.56 per cent in the second half of 2025, reaching N764.07 billion from N567.82 billion in the first half.
Ajayi-Kadir noted manufacturers are increasing investment in distribution infrastructure, including vehicle fleets to manage rising energy costs and third-party haulage charges.
To maintain investment momentum and boost local value addition, MAN’s DG proposed policy measures to strengthen backward integration, expand domestic sourcing, and improve government procurement support for Nigerian industries.
