Orogho Community Claims Seplat Ceded 7 Oil Wells to Delta

Residents of Orogho Community in Edo State have accused Seplat Energy Plc of transferring seven oil wells to Delta State without their consent. The claim was made by the Association of Orogho Community, Council of Representatives.
The association alleges that Seplat took over Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC) facilities in 2013 and has since engaged in actions that harm the community's interests, including the transfer of oil wells to Delta State communities.
The community expressed concern over Seplat's plan to drill at Well 5, which they claim would increase the number of Edo oil wells transferred to Delta State to seven. They stated they possess the coordinates to prove Edo State's ownership of the wells.
