Oyedele Disputes FG Fuel Tax Rumors, Labels Reports False

Taiwo Oyedele has denied any government plans to introduce a fuel tax, calling reports suggesting such a move as false. The minister stated that a fuel tax was not under consideration by the government.

Oyedele argued that imposing a fuel tax after the removal of the petrol subsidy would be insensitive to Nigerians already facing rising fuel prices and cost-of-living pressures. He reiterated that a fuel tax was not on the table.

The minister accused some online reports of misrepresenting his comments to imply the government was planning to introduce the tax. He urged Nigerians to disregard what he described as misleading headlines.
