Pakistan's fuel prices experienced significant fluctuations in 2026, with repeated adjustments and rising transport costs affecting consumers. By October 10, petrol prices reached Rs398.30 per litre after a surge of Rs145.13, while diesel climbed to Rs396.24 following an increase of Rs139.16. These price movements reflect the ongoing volatility in the market.

Since July 21, petrol prices have been revised 35 times with 22 cuts, and diesel has seen 34 increases and 23 reductions. This pattern of frequent adjustments has left consumers facing persistent price instability. The highest recorded petrol price occurred on April 3, 2026, at Rs458.41 per litre, with high-speed diesel reaching Rs520.35.

Price adjustments have been driven by changing market conditions, resulting in a series of upward and downward shifts.
