Silver Automation Instruments Publishes Guide on High-Viscosity Oil Flow Meters

Silver Automation Instruments, a Nanjing-based company, has released a technical guide on selecting high-viscosity oil flow meters. The guide outlines the comparison of oval gear, helical gear, and Coriolis meters for measuring heavy fuel oil, lubricants, and resins.

The guide is intended for engineers working with high-viscosity liquids, including heavy fuel oil, lubricants, hydraulic oil, resins, and other substances with viscosities above 200 mPa·s. It provides viscosity limits and flow derating data for accurate measurement.

Between January 2025 and September 2026, Silver Automation Instruments received 3000 flow meter inquiries from 130 countries. Of these, 8% were related to oils or liquids with viscosities exceeding 200 mPa·s, primarily heavy fuel oil, marine fuel, bitumen, and other high-viscosity substances.
