Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Ekniti Nitithanprapas engaged with Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) Governor Kazuhiko Amakawa to explore expanding investment and financial collaboration between Thailand and Japan. The discussions emphasized energy transition and low-carbon development as key priorities for the bilateral partnership.

Thailand aims to attract Japanese investment and financing mechanisms to accelerate its green transition, with a focus on energy efficiency and technology transfer. The Finance Ministry highlighted the potential for Japanese companies to contribute to Thailand’s greener economy through these channels.

The two nations also plan to strengthen AZEC-SAVE cooperation to support energy conservation and greenhouse-gas emission reductions across Thailand’s industrial and commercial sectors, aligning with broader low-carbon city development goals.
