US President Highlights Greenland’s Oil and Strategic Value Amid Energy Costs

US President Donald Trump stated that Greenland contains significant oil resources, emphasizing the island's potential for major exploration activities. He claimed the Arctic territory holds vast, easily accessible oil reserves despite elevated global energy prices that have persisted for more than 7 months since the Iran conflict began.

Trump further argued that Greenland's strategic position would be critical for defending the US and Europe against potential threats, stating that any future attack on the United States would require crossing Greenland, where US defenses would neutralize drones, missiles, or unanticipated weapons.

This statement follows a September agreement among Washington, Denmark, and Greenland to increase US military infrastructure on the island, including additional bases and missile defense systems.
