Villa Vie Residents Stranded Amid Fuel Crisis

A fuel crisis has left residents of Villa Vie Odyssey stranded in Cambodia after the company suspended its world cruise. Villa Vie Residences announced on October 27, 2026, that it had halted the voyage, leaving approximately 200 residents unable to continue their journey.
The suspension was attributed to a significant increase in fuel costs, with monthly expenses reaching as high as US$8,000 per cabin in parts of Asia. This marked a sharp rise from an average of $1,800, according to the company's statement.
Residents were directed to disembark the ship as Villa Vie Residences attempts a 60-day restructuring. The company has not confirmed when the cruise will resume, leaving stranded passengers without a clear timeline for departure.
