NHIA and Oredugba Honored at Insurance Event

Oredugba earned the 2026 Insurance Life Achievers Award for over four decades of contributions to insurance. The NHIA received the Special Recognition Award for expanding health insurance coverage and enhancing healthcare financing access in Nigeria.

Almond Productions Limited, the event organizer, scheduled the ceremony at Lagos’ Stable Event Centre. Key industry stakeholders and participants will convene there for the annual gathering.

Oredugba’s impact included pioneering Takaful, or Islamic insurance, in Nigeria’s market starting in 2002, as noted by Almond Productions Limited’s CEO, Faith Ughwode.

The NHIA’s leadership achieved over 20 million Nigerians covered by health insurance within two years, improving access and financial protection against healthcare costs.
